Diamonds Found in Black Sand

Gold Panners focus is always to recover as much gold as they can. The sluice box is usually the tool of choice, but do you carefully check your black sand for diamonds? Those funny quartz rocks that get caught around the black sand areas at the end of the sluice.

On occasion I get reports from miners that they get what appears to be quartz rocks trapped in the black sand in their boxes, but, these rocks don't look the same as the other pieces of quartz.

When you are checking your sluice box for fine gold please check the black sand areas for diamonds.

What to look for:

- These stones will be at the very end of your sluice box, just past the black sand areas.

- Diamonds don't wet like normal stones. Water will bead up and roll off these stones as if they had a Vaseline coating.

- Diamonds come in a range of colors from clear to dark as well as blue and pink.

- They may have bits of rock attached to them indicating they haven't traveled far from their kimberlite source.

It is also worth mentioning that diamonds are worth a lot of money - even the dark ones. One stone can go for $5,000 easily so it is worth watching for these occasional wonders. It is like finding a treasure in your sluice box.

Recently, our factory just finished one set plant for alluvial gold concentrate plant with portable design for our customer in Indonesia. The customer with a big alluvial gold mine area, and they want to purchase one plant for the gold recovery and convenience to mobile one site to others size. So our factory have more many years experience in gold concentrate plant design, and as our engineer suggestion, we complete the plant for you them.

The plant capacity is around 40t/h, not very big, but is mobile one, with the whole plant can be move to different mine area, like as a trailer. If the capacity too much, the design may hard to finish, so if the capacity less than 100t/h, the designing is better to design. At first, our engineer suggested the choose our Small mobile trommel machine, our factory had finished many portable alluvial gold concentrate plant before. Concern about their raw ore does not with any sticky clay, so the trommel screen is enough, don’t need the scrubber part. The whole plant is contents with gold trommel screen, gold centrifuge concentrator, shaking table, sluice, pump and others pipe connection parts.

For the plant design, in the primary washing part, there with a hopper with grizzly feeder that can remove too big gravel, then the trommel screen with can process and screening the small size goes to the centrifuge concentrator by pumping. In the second part is the gold centrifuge concentrator and shaking table, they are on one platform, and design with by wheels. The concentrate after the centrifuge concentrate process will goes to the shaking table concentrate again to get the high purity gold dust. About the tailing from the centrifuge concentrator if there with some waste of gold, it recycled by the sluice box, the sluice box is the best one for tailing concentrate, so the plant is the best one to protect the gold waste.
