Diamonds Found in Black Sand

Gold Panners focus is always to recover as much gold as they can. The sluice box is usually the tool of choice, but do you carefully check your black sand for diamonds? Those funny quartz rocks that get caught around the black sand areas at the end of the sluice.

On occasion I get reports from miners that they get what appears to be quartz rocks trapped in the black sand in their boxes, but, these rocks don't look the same as the other pieces of quartz.

When you are checking your sluice box for fine gold please check the black sand areas for diamonds.

What to look for:

- These stones will be at the very end of your sluice box, just past the black sand areas.

- Diamonds don't wet like normal stones. Water will bead up and roll off these stones as if they had a Vaseline coating.

- Diamonds come in a range of colors from clear to dark as well as blue and pink.

- They may have bits of rock attached to them indicating they haven't traveled far from their kimberlite source.

It is also worth mentioning that diamonds are worth a lot of money - even the dark ones. One stone can go for $5,000 easily so it is worth watching for these occasional wonders. It is like finding a treasure in your sluice box.

Froth Flotation Separation processing

Froth Flotation Separation is considered to be the most widely used method for ore beneficiation. In ore beneficiation, flotation is a process in which valuable minerals are separated from worthless material or other valuable minerals by inducing them to gather in and on the surface of a froth layer. Sulfide and non-sulfide minerals as well as native metals are recovered by Froth Flotation Separation. This process is based on the ability of certain chemicals to modify the surface properties of the mineral(s). Other chemicals are used to generate the froth and still others are used to adjust the pH. Certain chemicals are even capable of depressing the flotation of minerals that are either to be recovered at a later time or are not to be recovered.

The process of Froth Flotation Separation entails crushing and grinding the ore to a fine size. This fine grinding separates the individual mineral particles from the waste rock and other mineral particles. The grinding is normally done in water with the resultant slurry called the pulp. The pulp is processed in the flotation cells, which agitate the mixture and introduce air as small bubbles.

The ability of a mineral to float depends upon its surface properties. Chemical modification of these properties enables the mineral particles to attach to an air bubble in the flotation cell. The air bubble and mineral particle rise through the pulp to the surface of the froth or foam that is present on the flotation cell. Even though the air bubbles often break at this point, the mineral remains on the surface of the froth. The mineral is physically separated from the remaining pulp material and is removed for further processing.

Tips for Successful Gold Detecting

Dig Everything (At least at first) Many goldfields are absolutely littered with iron rubbish; rusty nails, boot tacks, bullets, old cans, miscellaneous iron fragments, etc. There may be hundreds or even thousands of iron trash targets for every piece of detectable gold. This can seem overwhelming for a beginner (and even experienced) detectorists. It can be easy to get lazy and start depending too much on your detectors discrimination features so that you do not have to dig so many holes. At first, you should really dig every target, regardless of what it sounds like or what you think it might be. Learn the sounds that your detector makes before trying to pass over targets. As you gain experience with your detector you can start to reevaluate what targets are worth digging and which ones are not.

Choose the proper search coil Most metal detectors have several different shapes and sizes of search coils that can be used on each detector. Depending on the area that you are prospecting, different types of search coils should be used. Mono coils will generally locate targets deeper than DD coils, but will not discriminate targets in the same ways. Larger coils are ideal for finding larger, deeper nuggets in areas that have been hunted by previous detectorists, but sometimes a smaller coil will operate more smoothly in highly mineralized ground. Do not be afraid to experiment with different coils in different areas.

Slow down your sweep speed Most gold nuggets are small and give off a subtle target sound. Swinging your detector too quickly will increase ground noise and mask the sound of a gold nugget. Keep your search coil close to the ground and slow down your speed to increase the chances of hearing a nugget.

Scheelite Concentrate Plant

China is the big country with tungsten resources, accounting for 51% of tungsten ore reserves of the world. Nature of tungsten have been found more than 20 kinds of minerals, of which the largest is the industrial value of scheelite and wolframite, and wolframite after a long period of mining, which has been slightly less conservative reserves, so this part is only for scheelite ore resources sorting and research.

Scheelite (CaWO4) is a calcium tungsten, whose chemical composition of WO3 80.6%, CaO 16.4%. Scheelite more brittle toughness, hardness is generally 5 to 5.5, a density of 6.8, non-magnetic, the color is white. From the beginning of the 1970s, scheelite flotation has made great progress, most have adopted the flotation processing plant, such as Tempe Utes, Samdhong, Jiu Ke, Golden Island, and other selected plants have adopted the flotation process plant.

Last few days, one of our clients from Korea that visited our factory for their scheelite recover processing plant. The spirals is big capacity for the rough of the scheelite, and use the shaking table to concentrate it again. Their capacity required is 80t/h, so we design a plant for 16 pics spirals to do it, and they choose the double gold shaking table to concentrate it. After their order, our machinery technical will go to their mine area for the installation guidance in Korea.

Tantalum-niobium ore beneficiation process

Crushing plant for rock ore processing

The purpose of ore crushing and grinding is grinding and size classification to reduce the ore down to a fine particle size. Generally the complete ore crushing plant consists of jaw crusher, ball mill classifier, magnetic separator, flotation machines, thickener, dryers and other major equipment, such as vibrating feeder, bucket elevator and belt conveyor. The primary crusher reduces ore from the trucks to 8-inches or less. That material goes to the primary stock pile directly that you see crushed rock falling onto in your image. Two conveyors (out of view to the right in your image) pull this material directly into each SAG mill where it is combined with water and mill balls (as needed). Big raw ores are feed to the jaw crusher evenly and gradually by vibrating feeder machine for primary crushing.

After primary crushing, the material will be transferred to other crushers by belt conveyor for secondary crushing, and then the crushed materials will be transferred to vibrating screen for separating. Final, the materials will be transferred into the ball mill evenly for ore grinding.
